Mar 19, 2010 50 NEW JOBS COLDWELL BANKER COMMERCIAL OFFENBECHER ANNOUNCES THE PURCHASE OF AN 82,000 SF PROCESSING PLANT IN FIFE
Steve Offenbecher of Coldwell Banker Commercial Offenbecher in Puyallup, WA has negotiated the sale of the Trident Seafood Processing plant in Fife, WA to Lusamerica Foods Inc. of Morgan Hill, CA. Lusamerica was founded in 1975 and provides a full line of fresh and frozen fish products acquired locally and shipped worldwide. Steve represented Lusamerica in the purchase of the 82,000 sf processing plant which includes cooler/freezer storage, loading docks, processing areas and offices on 4.5 acres. Plans for the plant include expansion of their product line into the Pacific Northwest specializing in delivery of fresh salmon to national and regional grocery food chains. The company President, Fernando Frederico, says, “we plan to bring 50 to 60 new jobs to the Fife plant this year and up to 100 in the next 2 years”. This is an economic boost to Pierce County and to Fife just when it is needed. “The Fife City Council is pleased to welcome Lusamerica to the city,” says Fife City Manager Steve Worthington. He continues, “They bring quality jobs to the area and place an 82,000 square foot building back in productive service. Lusamerica is making a large investment in the community and the City will support them in every way.” CBCO is always looking for creative resources to help tenants and buyers finance and close deals in these uncertain economic times. The company introduced Lusamerica to the concept of using low interest Industrial Revenue Bonds for financing, and earlier this month the Economic Development Corporation of Pierce County unanimously approved the financing application. Susan Suess, the senior VP at the EDB said, ”We are thrilled with Lusamerica’s decision to invest in Fife and Pierce County and look forward to continuing to work together to help make their new project here a success. It’s great news – not only for the jobs they bring – but they add to the growing list of environmentally conscious companies that call Pierce County home.” CBCO congratulates Lusamerica on their acquisition and we thank them for the opportunity to represent them.
